beauty campaign
Beauty today is soooo distorted by the media. even though it's probably something that all women know in our heads, it's still seems so hard to embrace how we look..and see the beauty in our appearance (cuz let's face it, being beautiful on the inside might be more important...but we still CARE and want to be beautiful on the outside as well!!). Check out this clip from Dove about their new campaign for beauty. I hope they succeed in making a difference & changing our perceptions!
update on my life: school started. school sucks. :)

awww. is that by any chance a new discovery about school? =]
Our sense of beauty is not distorted, it simply *is*. If we didn't find the images on the billboards beautiful they wouldn't be there.
There was a time when full-figured women were considered the beauties of their day, and someday it will be the case again. Fashion, trends, history, is all cyclical.
Why do we need to bring someone else (even if it's a composite/fictitious person on a billboard,) down to feel better about ourselves?
Every woman is beautiful in some way, and to someone. The is evidenced by the fact that people still fall in love and get married as they did in decades prior, even before such thing as "the media."
If women are happy with themselves, and see their own beauty, then that will shine through to everyone else around them. If they cannot see their own inner light, well then bringing down everyone else in the world to their level will do nothing to change that.
wow, that last comment was deep. in my incredibly less deep comment, i just wanted to point out you probably meant to say "want to be beautiful on the *outsides* as well"?
